If you're around Lawrence Park the evening of Monday, February 20th, stop by the Historical Society for my presentation on the legend of Habetrot and the economic and historical significance of spinning. The lecture will only be about 30 minutes, and it starts at 7pm. Admission is free, and they will have free refreshments for attendees.
Because the legend of Habetrot speaks to industry, economic stability, gender, and even machinery, we'll have some interesting developments to talk about in terms of guilds, technological developments, and even political power plays--all of which surround the craft and utility of spinning yarn.
Yay!
